Today marked a significant milestone for our community with the official launch of the Cash for Work Program aimed at empowering individuals and fostering community resilience in the face of the drought experienced in the 2023/2024 farming season. This innovative initiative, spearheaded by the Government through the Local Authority is set to make a lasting impact on the lives of many as we navigate these uncertain times. The Cash for Work Program represents a collaborative effort to address pressing drought needs while providing meaningful opportunities for individuals to contribute to their communities. By engaging participants in various projects and tasks, ranging from Clearing of debris in drainages, Garbage collection. Maintenance of roads that is vegetation control, culvert unblocking, pothole patching, drainage clearing and digging and widening, the program seeks to not only drive local development but also to create a sense of ownership and pride among participants. Through this program, participants will have the opportunity to earn a dignified income while gaining valuable experience and skills that can enhance their employability in the future. By investing in our community members and providing them with the tools they need to succeed, we are laying the foundation for a stronger, more resilient society.As we embark on this journey together, we call upon local businesses and community members to show their support for the Cash for Work Program.
