Mazabuka Municipal Council is pleased to have had successful visit of Committee on Local Governance, Housing and Chiefs’ Affairs today 21st April 2023. The visit was aimed at assessing a detailed study on the review of the integrated development plan for Mazabuka.
The Delegation was led by the Chairperson for Local Government Committee Honorable Newton Samakayi the Member of Parliament Mwinilunga. Others in the delegation were Hon Maureen Mabonga MP the V. Chairperson, Hon Menyani Zulu MP, Hon Simon mwale MP, Hon Mwene Luhamba MP, Hon Christopher Shakafuswa MP, Hon Twaambo Mutinta and Hon Tryon simuzingili and accompanied to the delegation were staff from the National Assembly.
During their visit, the Parliamentarians had productive interactive meetings with His Worship the Mayor and Heads of Government Departments in the Council chamber.
The Parliamentarians expressed their appreciation for the well-coordinated presentation warm reception they received from the Local Authority. They acknowledged the significant progress made by the district in implementing the IDP and highlighted the importance of continued investment in sustainable development.
In his remarks the Committee Chairperson said that their role is critical in ensuring that government policies and programmes are inclusive and responsive to the needs of all citizens.
